From the Lee Rogers Blog:
Thoghts on November 7th, 2012
The most benign summary of the events of yesterday came from William Shakespeare a few hundred years ago in "Macbeth": "It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
Despite the billions of words and dollars expended, nothing about the structure of the government changed. Congress is still divided, with Republicans holding a House majority that can, if it holds its nerve, stifle some of Obama's Marxist excesses.
Those with some knowledge of historical references will see in Obama's victory a realization of the words attributed (correctly or not) to an 18th Century Scotsman named Alexander Tytler:
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
* From bondage to spiritual faith;
* From spiritual faith to great courage;
* From courage to liberty;
* From liberty to abundance;
* From abundance to selfishness;
* From selfishness to complacency;
* From complacency to apathy;
* From apathy to dependence;
* From dependence back into bondage."
There is no longer doubt that this nation has reached the tipping point predicted by many of us. The point at which half the population pays no income taxes and basically lives off the work and income of people whose earnings are expropriated by a corrupt government.
A majority of voters demonstrated yesterday that they prefer the honeyed lies of a man whose personal history and governing practices are a patchwork of falsehoods and whose administration of the nation's affairs is manifestly a failure.
Regardless of the election outcome, one thing Republicans should remember from the campaign: Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey is never to be trusted. He's a double-agent, a stooge.
Small examples of the Democrat mentality at work: Jesse Jackson, Jr., still undergoing treatment for a mental disturbance and under an ethical cloud the size of Montana, won re-election to the House from Chicago. Elizabeth Warren, the lying fake Indian with ethical problems of her own, easily won the Massachusetts Senate seat.
"There are two ways to conquer & enslave a nation.
One is by the sword.
The other is by debt." -- John Adams 1826
One overriding question will be answered today: Does this nation have a future, or has it reached its "sell by" date?

Bill Clinton, perjurer, contributed the laugh-line of the entire campaign: "Who wants a president who will knowingly, repeatedly, tell you something you know isn't true?"
We now know the answer. More than half of American voters.We Love Tonka trucks
as usual. One of the ladies I work with has several grandsons who have
grown up and outgrown their Tonka trucks. Her husband cleaned them up
and painted them for Brendan. They don't make them in metal
anymore--just plastic--and I've had trouble finding any that are
affordable. Now he has 3 trucks and a backhoe! The world is full of
amazing people....
